Reflection on Proverbs 29:25–26 (NIV)
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.” — Proverbs 29:25–26
These verses remind us that living to please people can trap us in anxiety, compromise, and fear. When we become overly concerned about what others think, we may lose sight of God's direction for our lives. True security comes from placing our trust in the Lord rather than in human approval.
Verse 26 teaches that while people often seek favor from influential leaders and powerful individuals, ultimate justice and fairness come from God. Human authority is limited, but God's judgment is perfect and righteous.
Prayer Points
Lord, help me to trust You above the opinions and approval of people.
Father, deliver me from every fear that hinders my faith and obedience.
Grant me the courage to stand for what is right, even when it is unpopular.
Lord, be my defender and bring justice in every area of my life.
Help me to seek Your favor above all earthly influence and power.
Strengthen my faith so that I may walk confidently in Your promises.
Let Your peace guard my heart as I place my trust completely in You.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my refuge and protector. Help me not to be trapped by the fear of people, but to trust fully in You. Teach me to seek Your wisdom, favor, and guidance above all else. When I face challenges or injustice, remind me that You are the source of true justice. Strengthen my faith, fill me with courage, and keep me safe in Your loving care. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏🏽✨
