My little act of kindness!

See those birds? Before they were hatched, I watched their mother lay the eggs. I did not see when the parents built the nest, but I found it on my meter. I chose not to destroy it because I knew it was the result of their effort to prepare a home for their unborn young.

The mother bird laid her eggs, and I allowed her to stay. Every morning and evening, I watched her leave the nest in search of food and return to care for her eggs. I paid attention and made sure the nest was not disturbed by people or any other external factors.

Then I travelled for work and stayed for two weeks.

When I returned, I was greeted by a beautiful sight. The eggs had hatched, and the young birds were alive, healthy, and growing strong. Although they had messed up my meter, I felt nothing but joy.

My happiness came from knowing that I had not destroyed a life or caused pain to the parent birds. Instead, I gave them the opportunity to bring forth their young. I did not stand in the way of their dreams.

Today, the parent birds are happy because they succeeded in raising their offspring, and I am fulfilled because I chose kindness. By creating a safe and conducive environment for them, I became a small part of their success story.

Now, they have their testimony, and I have mine. They are alive and thriving, and I am reminded that sometimes the greatest act of humanity is simply allowing life to flourish.
