There are references to S&P and Fitch ratings, but the real question is whether ordinary Nigerians are living better lives. How are people in the villages coping? How much are they spending to survive, and what does their income look like today? You can celebrate positive ratings all you want, but when the daily reality of the people clearly contradicts the optimistic picture being painted, self-congratulation becomes almost offensive.
