According to the latest updates from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, there is currently **no confirmed Ebola case in Nigeria**. However, the agency has placed the country on **high alert** because of the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda. ([The Guardian Nigeria][1])
The NCDC has intensified:
* Surveillance at airports and borders
* Emergency preparedness
* Monitoring of travelers from affected countries
* Public health awareness campaigns

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently described the Ebola outbreak in Congo as a “very high” national risk due to the rapid spread of the Bundibugyo strain, which currently has no approved vaccine. ([Reuters][3])
