There is a principle so fundamental to human behaviour that every parent, every teacher, every psychologist, and every politician knows it and yet societies routinely act as though they have never heard it.

The principle is this: “WHATEVER A SOCIETY REWARDS, IT WILL GET MORE OF”.

Reward effort, and you will produce a nation of workers. ..like China is doing.
Reward education, and you will build a nation of thinkers...like India is doing.
Reward integrity, and you will cultivate a nation of people worth trusting...like Switzerland is doing.

These are not aspirational statements. They are descriptions of incentive architecture of the invisible but all-powerful system of signals, sanctions, and celebrations that shape human behaviour far more reliably than any law ever written.

Now ask yourself this question with your eyes open and your sentimentality set aside:
in Nigeria today, in the year 2026, what does the society reward?
