Respectfully Nigeria’s power crisis is not a mystery — it is the result of decades of underinvestment, corruption, and mismanagement.
Fix the power sector’s financial collapse the #1 root cause
No power sector in the world can work if companies are bankrupt. Nigeria’s DisCos and GenCos are technically insolvent.
What must happen now:
Cost-reflective tariffs with targeted subsidies for 240 million Nigerians
Metering expansion to stop estimated billing and revenue loss. Where are the meters and the money meant for these projects?
Debt restructuring for DisCos and GenCos
Enforce payment discipline — government agencies must pay their electricity bills. EFCC should investigate them if they are serious no lies no slogans
Without this, no investor will put money into generation, transmission, or distribution. No investment or investor will come to Nigerian when Nigerians are killed since 1999 and the government, opposition parties, independent candidates go about business-as-usual campaigning for 2027 elections
Expand generation in the 36 states 774 LGA
Eliminate corruption and political interference
This is the hardest part — but without it, nothing else works.
Required actions:
Transparent procurement
Independent regulators
Public dashboards showing generation, transmission, and distribution in real time upload on LekeeLekee app daily
Countries like India and Vietnam fixed their power sectors by making data public. Nigeria can do the same no country is perfect if the Nigerian government is serious no lies/no slogans

As a builder, I have learned that systems collapse when dysfunction becomes normalized across finance, governance, accountability and infrastructure for too long. No power sector can...
A lot of money has been stolen in the process.
The billing system is also corrupted; reinvestment is being hampered.
