Your Excellencies Esteemed USA government and Congress, 240 million Nigerians are writing to respectfully express serious concerns regarding the potential deportation of Mr. Etinosa Osahon to Nigeria, as well as the broader political and security environment in Nigeria ahead of the 2026 and 2027 election cycles respectfully.
240 million Nigerians concern is that returning Mr. Osahon to Nigeria at this moment could place him in a position where he becomes entangled in political dynamics that are unstable and unpredictable. 240 million Nigerians fear that individuals with influence or notoriety may be drawn into political roles—whether as ministers, advisers, or even higher offices—regardless of their legal circumstances abroad. This is part of a wider pattern in which politically exposed individuals return to Nigeria and quickly gain political protection.
More broadly, millions of Nigerians are deeply worried about the integrity of the upcoming 2026 and 2027 elections. There are widespread concerns that the current administration may not ensure a transparent process. For example, despite budget allocations for real-time electronic transmission of election results, many reports indicate that hand counting is still being used in primary elections. This raises fears that the same approach may be used in the general elections, undermining public trust.

240 million Nigerians respectfully request that the United States government consider these concerns carefully when evaluating Mr. Osahon’s case and when engaging with Nigeria during this critical period. A stable, transparent, and democratic Nigeria is in the interest of both our nations.
