Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, 240 million Nigerians are writing as a concerned Nigerian citizen seeking clarity, accountability, and transparency regarding the Federal Government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) transition program.

In May 2025, the Federal Government publicly unveiled CNG buses, tricycles, and conversion infrastructure for universities across the country. This announcement generated hope among millions of Nigerians, especially students and young adults who were told the initiative would ease transportation costs, create jobs, and support a cleaner energy future.

However, nearly a year later, the public has not seen a nationwide rollout of these buses. Only a few pilot institutions received limited units, and the majority of universities, polytechnics, and colleges have not benefited from the program.

According to publicly available information, approximately ₦190 billion was allocated or committed to the CNG transition through the Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI), the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF), and related partners. Nigerians deserve to know:

How much of this money has been released

Which agencies or contractors received funds

What infrastructure has been completed

Why the buses and services have not reached the intended beneficiaries

What challenges are delaying the rollout

If any portion of these funds has been mismanaged, diverted, or left idle, we respectfully request that the EFCC and the courts take immediate action to:

Investigate all financial flows connected to the CNG program

Recover any misappropriated funds

Prosecute individuals found responsible for wrongdoing

Seize assets and restrict international travel where appropriate

Nigeria’s youths and graduates were promised opportunities, relief, and development. Transparent handling of this project is essential to restoring public trust. Recovered funds should be redirected toward the original goals free transportation, education support, housing, and digital access for Nigerian youths and graduates

Respectfully we are appealing for decisive action, clear communication, and accountability so that this important national initiative does not fail.

Thank you for your attention to this matter
