For decades, families, schools, religious institutions, and society at large have promoted a simple formula:
"Work hard and you will succeed."

Yet all around us, we see hardworking people struggling, talented people overlooked, and opportunities distributed unevenly.

This raises an uncomfortable question:

Has hard work become overrated, or have we misunderstood what success actually requires?

In today's world, which matters more:

Competence or visibility?

Merit or connections?

Effort or access?

Consistency or timing?

Personal responsibility or systemic factors?

If hard work alone is not enough, what do you believe is the single most important factor that determines whether a person progresses or remains stuck?
