If what we witnessed during the APC primaries is truly what should be called an election, then Nigeria is in serious trouble.
The open manipulation of figures in broad daylight — without shame, fear, or concern for public perception — raises painful questions about the future of our democracy. Since the emergence of this administration, many Nigerians believe the country has continued to drift toward lawlessness and weakened accountability.
Is this the legacy we want to leave for our children?
It is even more heartbreaking when many of those accused of destroying this country have secured better futures for their own children abroad, while Nigeria becomes a playground for political exploitation and personal enrichment.
As citizens, we must never become so desensitized that we can no longer recognize wrongdoing when we see it. A society that normalizes manipulation, fraud, and abuse of power risks destroying not only its present, but also the future of generations yet unborn.
Nigeria deserves leadership built on integrity, accountability, and respect for democratic values.
