Before you go to sleep tonight, I want you to sit with one question. Not to stress about it.

Just to think about it honestly. Where will you be on 23 July 2028 — the day after the transition window closes?

Will you be working in the NHS at the grade your experience deserves, on a visa that is secure and renewable, with a career that is building toward permanent residency?

Or will you still be in the care home, on the same visa, hoping something changes?

The answer to that question is not determined by luck. It is not determined by which jobs happen to be advertised.

It is determined by the decisions you make in the next six to twelve months — specifically whether you treat your transition as a strategic career move that requires deliberate preparation, or as something you will get to when things calm down.

Things do not calm down. You move forward anyway.
