Your Excellencies, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Inspector General of Police, the Chief of Army Staff, and the Chief of Air Staff, Opposition parties, independent candidates, 240 million Nigerians are
writing to express deep concern about the ongoing pattern of distrust, fear, and frustration felt by 240 million of Nigerians regarding policing, military operations, governance, and national security.
For decades, Nigerians have repeatedly raised alarms about unjust arrests, excessive force, and the targeting of 240 Nigerians youths and graduates. Incidents such as the recent situation in Osogbo, where police fired warning shots during an operation, continue to deepen public fear. Many Nigerians feel unheard and unprotected, and this distrust has grown over generations.
At the same time, violent extremist groups such as boko haram—responsible for severe harm, loss of life, and human rights violations—have continued to terrorize communities since the early 2000s. Nigerians are asking why the full weight of the security apparatus is not consistently directed toward dismantling these groups and addressing the root causes that allow them to thrive.
Respectfully 240 million Nigerians are also calling for:
The release of Nigerian youths and graduates who may have been detained over the decades without clear evidence.
Transparent investigations into security operations that affect 240 million Nigerians
Nationwide CCTV coverage across all 36 states and 774 LGAs to ensure accountability now 5/24/2026
Free electricity and free internet access, which have been long-standing public expectations for decades
Modern, real-time election result transmission systems to replace manual counting, which many view as outdated and damaging to Nigeria’s global image.
Strengthening institutions such as the EFCC and the courts to restore public confidence.
Nigeria has the talent, population, and potential to lead Africa and inspire the world. 240 million Nigerians are not asking for perfection—we are asking for sincerity, accountability, and meaningful reform. No lies, no slogans. The global community is watching the Nigerian government for decades, but more importantly, Nigerians at home and abroad are watching and demanding for change now 5/24/2026
Respectfully we urge your offices to take these concerns seriously and to demonstrate through action that the government is committed to justice, transparency, and the safety of all 240 million Nigerians
