Your Excellencies President Tinubu, opposition parties, independent candidates, Courts, Judiciary, EFCC 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concern about the current state of security, governance, and electoral credibility in our country. Nigerians are being killed every day, and 240 million Nigerians live in fear. Farmers cannot safely return to their fields, and children cannot go to school with the assurance that they will return home safely. This level of insecurity is unacceptable for a nation of over 240 million Nigerians
At the same time, the recent APC primary conducted in only one state, using hand counting, raises serious questions about transparency and fairness. With 36 states and 774 local government areas, it is difficult to understand why a nationwide party primary was not conducted across the entire country. Hand counting in a single location creates room for doubt, suspicion, and allegations of manipulation.
Nigeria has the capacity for real-time electronic transmission of results. INEC has received significant funding over the years, including the N873 billion election budget proposal. Nigerians deserve clarity on how these funds were used and why our electoral processes still rely on outdated methods that undermine public trust.
Additionally, Nigerians continue to wait for the promises of stable free electricity, affordable or free data, and improved digital infrastructure—commitments that have been made for decades. These are essential for economic growth, education, and national development.
The credibility of our institutions—the presidency, the courts, INEC, and the EFCC—is critical. When these institutions appear weak or compromised, the international community takes notice, and Nigeria risks becoming a subject of ridicule rather than respect.
Respectfully Mr. President, Nigerians are asking for decisive leadership. We are asking for transparency, accountability, and urgent action to restore security, strengthen our democracy, and deliver on long-standing promises.
Please take the necessary steps to address these issues. The future of our nation depends on it.
