Your Excellency Esteemed President Tinubu, 240 million Nigerians are
writing to express deep concern about the continued use of hand counting in the 2026 elections. In a world where transparent, real‑time electronic transmission of results is standard, it is troubling that Nigeria is still relying on manual processes. Many around the world are watching, and this raises questions about our commitment to credible elections.
INEC publicly allocated ₦395.12 million specifically for real‑time electronic result transmission. With such an investment, Nigerians expected a modern, transparent system—not a return to outdated methods. If we cannot ensure a free and fair process in 2026, it becomes difficult for 240 million Nigerians to trust that 2027 will be any different.
Nigerians also continue to face challenges that were promised solutions years ago. Despite commitments made in 2022 and 2023, Nigerians are still paying for electricity while many communities in the 36 states 774 LGA remain in darkness. Free Wi‑Fi and data have not materialized. boko haram continues to take Nigerian lives, children struggle to attend school safely, and farmers cannot return to their land to secure our food supply.
These issues affect all 240 million Nigerians. Your leadership and re‑election prospects depend on restoring trust, delivering on promises, and ensuring that every citizen feels protected and valued.
Respectfully we urge you to take decisive action to strengthen our electoral system, improve security, and fulfill the commitments made to the 240 million Nigerians
