Greetings Honorables Esteemed Dr. Alausa and UK’s minister of state for skills Baroness Smith, 240 million Nigerians hope this message finds you both well. We are writing regarding the recent announcement of the Nigeria–UK partnership on youth skills training. This development is encouraging, and many Nigerians are eager to understand the practical details and timelines.

Nigeria has over 240 million citizens, with a large population of youths and graduates who urgently need access to technical, vocational, and digital skills. For this reason, clarity on the following points is essential:

When will the training officially begin, and what is the expected completion timeline?

Where will the training be conducted, and will it be accessible to youths across all regions of Nigeria?

Will the training be free for all 240 million Nigerian youths and graduates, and what support systems will be provided free transportation, housing, healthcare, electricity, and internet access

What salary or stipend will trainees receive during the program?

How will the government ensure that this initiative does not become another unfulfilled promise, especially after elections respectfully.

It is important that this program be implemented within Nigeria so that 240 million Nigerian youths and graduates can participate without the high cost of overseas training. Training 240 million Nigerian abroad is unrealistic and unnecessary when Nigeria can host these programs locally with proper investment in the 36 states 774 LGA if the Nigerian government are serious this is a humble request

Additionally, we urge the government to address the root causes of insecurity, including the long-standing issues that fuel boko haram. Without safety and stability, investors will remain hesitant, and job creation will be limited.

We also request that all updates, application details, and announcements be posted on the LekeLekee app daily so that information reaches the public quickly and transparently. The process should be simple valid ID and a Nigerian passport should be sufficient, without complicated online interviews or barriers.

Nigerians have endured decades of unreliable electricity, expensive data, and limited opportunities. This initiative offers hope, but only if it is implemented with sincerity, transparency, and urgency now 5/23/2026
