Below is a numbered list of the major school kidnapping incidents in Nigeria from 2014 to 2026, together with the President in office at the time of each incident.
Under President Goodluck Jonathan (2010–2015)
1. Chibok Girls Kidnapping – April 14, 2014
Location: Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.
About 276 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram.
This remains the most famous school kidnapping in Nigeria's history.

Under President Muhammadu Buhari (2015–2023)
2. Dapchi Schoolgirls Kidnapping – February 19, 2018
Location: Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State.
About 110 girls were abducted.
Most were later released.

3. Kankara Schoolboys Kidnapping – December 11, 2020
Location: Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.
Around 344 students were abducted.
President: Muhammadu Buhari.
4. Kagara School Kidnapping – February 17, 2021
Location: Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.
42 persons, including students and staff, were kidnapped.
President: Muhammadu Buhari.
5. Jangebe Schoolgirls Kidnapping – February 26, 2021
Location: Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State.
About 279 girls were abducted.
