When we think about issues like the price of rice, we must also recognise that many of these challenges are linked to our environment. In Nigeria today, overexploitation of natural resources is destroying habitats for animals and plants, with unsustainable practices such as the demand for bushmeat contributing to rapid biodiversity loss. These resources are declining faster than many realize. Since we are deeply connected to nature and depend on it for oxygen, medicine, and food, Nigeria must take action to protect the environment as global attention on conservation continues to grow.
