According to Reuters, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited has accused the Dangote refinery of allegedly attempting to restrict competition and expose the country's fuel market to monopolistic control by challenging import licenses issued to rival traders.

Reuters reports that in its defense proposal submitted to the Federal High Court in Lagos, the NNPC argued that granting the Dangote refinery's request to annul or restrict import permits would expose Africa's largest oil producer to supply disruptions, price instability, and risks to national energy security.
