Gombe State Police Command has recovered 119 rounds of 7.62mm AK-47 live ammunition concealed in a sack along Kalshingi Road in Kwadon, Yamaltu/Deba LGA of Gombe State.

Police spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the recovery followed credible intelligence received on May 19, 2026, about a suspicious sack hidden under a tree opposite a graveyard.

A police team led by the Divisional Police Officer recovered the sack containing the ammunition, two empty ammunition packets, bottles of moringa seeds, and a green bag. A search operation was launched in the area, but no suspect has been arrested.
