Emilia Clarke spoke about how she has made peace with being best-known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones.

Reflecting on the show's legacy during a visit to Virgin Radio UK, she said: "I honestly think I will be in my 90s before I can fully comprehend what that was."

"I think I went through a phase of being like, trying to want to be known for more than just Game of Thrones. Which is natural, but now I'm just like… 'It was phenomenal'. Well, I never didn't think it was great but I was always like, 'But I could do all these other things. I swear to God I'm an actor'.

"And now I'm just deeply grateful it happened and I'll probably always be that dragon girl and maybe that's okay… Dragon lady! No. Dragon old lady! But maybe that’s brilliant."
