Bayelsa East Senatorial Primary: Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli Declared Winner, Lauds Peaceful Conduct of Exercise, Thanks Party Faithful

​BRASS— Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli has been declared the winner of the recently conducted primary election to choose the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Bayelsa East Senatorial District. The victory of the former member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Brass/Nembe Federal Constituency, was announced in Twon-Brass, Brass local government area, after polling a total of 76,725 votes to defeat other contestants.

​In his reaction to the declaration, Sunny-Goli expressed his gratitude to God, and thanked the Bayelsa State governor, Sen. Douye Diri for providing a conducive environment for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise across the senatorial district. He also commended the electoral committee for ensuring that the process was transparent and in strict conformity with the ethos of participatory democracy.
​Speaking further, he expressed profound gratitude to party members and key stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him. He assured them that upon securing victory at the general election to represent the district in the Nigerian Senate, he would ensure that their collective aspirations form the core of his legislative agenda.

​According to him, "This is just the first step. We have work to do. We must roll up our sleeves and be ready to engage with the electorate meaningfully by assuring them that our great party has chosen a candidate who understands our collective challenges, and possesses the political acumen and reach to translate our aspirations into reality."
