**NDLEA Busts Nigerian-Mexican Meth Syndicate, Seizes $363M in Drugs**

The NDLEA has dismantled a transnational Nigerian-Mexican methamphetamine syndicate, shutting down the largest clandestine drug laboratory ever discovered in Nigeria — hidden in a remote forest in Ijebu East, Ogun State.

In a simultaneous operation on 16th May 2026, operatives arrested 10 suspects, including three Mexican meth specialists and the cartel's kingpin, Anochili Innocent, at his Lekki, Lagos residence. A total of 2,419.48 kilograms of methamphetamine worth approximately $363 million (₦480 billion) was seized alongside precursor chemicals, solvents, and two vehicles.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), warned drug cartels that Nigeria remains hostile territory, vowing to continue dismantling their networks.
