Our Fathers, Why Have You Abandoned Us?
The playground is a graveyard of forgotten toys,
Where silence replaced the laughter of girls and boys.
A sudden shadow falls where the sun used to shine,
And a cold hand reaches across the sacred line.
We are snatched from the safety of the afternoon light,
Dragged into the belly of an endless night.
Our fathers, where is the shield of your name?
The world is burning, and we are the flame.
We cry from the dark, but the echoes just mock
Why did you leave the lambs to the hawk?
In the corners of rooms we were never meant to see,
They steal the last pieces of our dignity.
They trade our tomorrows for silver and greed,
Deaf to the prayers of a child in need.
The hands that should heal us are the ones that oppress,
Leaving us shivering in a torn, bloody dress.
We look to the sky, then we look to the door,
Wondering if we are worth fighting for.
You taught us that fathers protect and provide,
But now we are broken, with nowhere to hide.
Are you too busy? Did you lose our track?
Is the price too high to bring your children back?
A Cry to Every Generation
To the Elders and Leaders:
Your silence is a heavy, suffocating stone.
How can you sleep while we weep alone?
You trade in promises, in politics, and pride,
While the soul of the future is dying inside.
To the Mothers and Fathers:
We are the blood of your blood, the bone of your bone.
Do not leave us to face this terror alone.
Hear our whispers through the walls of our pain,
Wash us clean from this monstrous stain.
Why have you abandoned us to the chains and the fear?
If you can hear us, please, draw near.
Before the dark consumes what is left of our grace,
Fathers, look down, and remember our face.
Dedicated to every child with pain their heart.
