Southampton have officially been expelled from the EPL Championship play-off final, after admitting to spying on their semi-final opponents Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough hace now been reinstated. The Championship play-off final will now take place between the Boro and Hull City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday May 23.

The south-coast club will appeal the decision, which also sees them handed a four-point deduction for the 2026-27 season in the #Championship.

Middlesbrough released the following statement:

"Middlesbrough Football Club welcomes the outcome of today’s Disciplinary Commission hearing.

We believe this sends out a clear message for the future of our game regarding sporting integrity and conduct.

As a club, we are now focused on our game against Hull City at Wembley on Saturday.

Ticket information for our supporters will be available shortly."
