Edo South APC Primaries.. The Full Breakdown of the Parallel Crisis and Vote Counts✍️...
The Edo South APC Senatorial primary has ended in deep controversy, with two major aspirants, Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, both claiming victory through conflicting declarations by different electoral officials.
If you are trying to make sense of the numbers making the rounds, here is the exact breakdown of the two parallel results.
Faction A- The Kabiru Ajana Declaration (Winner: Ogbeide-Ihama)
The electoral committee faction led by Chairman Kabiru Ajana collated results at Urhokpota Hall, Benin City, showing a clean sweep for the former House of Reps member across all 7 LGAs.
Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama: 27,154 votes.
Senator Neda Imasuen: 13,580 votes Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu: 6,785 votes.
Faction B- The Muhammadu Kabiru Counter-Declaration (Winner: Ize-Iyamu)
In a dramatic twist, another returning officer, Muhammadu Kabiru, announced a completely different set of total figures, reversing the order..
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu: 33,399 votes
Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama: 12,560 votes
Senator Neda Imasuen: 5,107 votes
The Big Takeaways..
1. The Parallel Twist: Both sides are holding firm to their figures, leaving the final decision completely in the hands of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja.
2. Incumbent Defeated: In both announced versions of the results, the sitting Senator, Neda Imasuen (who defected from the Labour Party to the APC last year), finished second or third, missing out on the ticket.
3.Pockets of Disquiet: While voting across the 77 wards was largely orderly, skirmishes and disagreements were reported in parts of Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, and Uhunmwode as rival camps clashed over the process.
What are your thoughts on this parallel outcome? Who do you think the national leadership will clear as the authentic candidate?
