BREAKING: EFCC ARRESTS CONVICTED FORMER POWER MINISTER SALEH MAMMAN
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his conviction in absentia.
According to the EFCC, Mamman had reportedly been on the run before he was apprehended in Rigasa area of Kaduna State.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed the arrest, stating that the former minister was previously convicted and sentenced in absentia to 75 years imprisonment over corruption related offences.
Authorities say further details regarding his arraignment and possible transfer to custody are expected in the coming hours.
Saleh Mamman served as Nigeria’s Minister of Power under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
