The Push For Women’s Representation Extends Beyond Primaries To The Special Seats Bill - Awunah-Ikyegh

We are monitoring all political parties ahead of the 2027 elections. Since last year, we have been working to encourage women’s participation in party primaries and also pushing for the Special Seats Bill. As women’s organisations, we have mobilised women and engaged those already in the National Assembly, but we are seeing setbacks, with many women losing out on tickets across parties. So far, only about five states have given women tickets on the APC platform.
