Nigeria’s Problem Is Not Capacity, It Is The Decline Of Patriotic Leadership - Olawepo-Hashim

Nigeria has never been this weak in terms of security. There was a time we deployed troops to Liberia to help end crisis, and to Sierra Leone to stop brutal killings by rebel groups. We also played key roles in peacekeeping efforts in places like Darfur and beyond. That was a period of leadership that, despite its shortcomings, showed strong patriotism and positioned Nigeria as a stabilizing force across Africa and beyond. Today, it is less about lack of capacity and more about a decline in patriotism and national commitment.
