Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Leaders of Opposition Parties and Independent Candidates,240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concern about the current state of political conduct in Nigeria, especially as it relates to peaceful transitions of power, internal party primaries, and the persistent issues of corruption and insecurity.
When leaders are unable to conduct peaceful, transparent, and credible political processes without infighting, manipulation, or corruption, it raises a serious question: how can such leadership effectively govern a nation of over 240 million people? Nigerians deserve leaders who demonstrate discipline, integrity, and a commitment to national stability.
The ongoing political tensions, coupled with the global perception of Nigeria’s political class as disorganized and unserious, have made the country a subject of ridicule internationally for decades. This is not the image Nigerians want or deserve.
It is time for all political actors—across ruling and opposition parties, as well as independent candidates—to demonstrate genuine leadership. This includes addressing the root causes of insecurity, particularly the long-standing boko haram insurgency, rather than spending public resources on chaotic and unproductive primary elections.
Nigerians expect and demand responsible governance, accountability, and a sincere commitment to national progress. Anything less is unacceptable.
Respectfully,
Concerned 240 million Nigerians suffering in hardship, poverty & darkness
