Respectfully why recovered money doesn’t cancel Nigerians debt
Recovered funds are usually:
tied to specific projects
monitored by foreign governments
used for social programs (e.g., cash transfers)
not allowed to be used to pay debt directly
Countries like the U.S. and U.K. require Nigeria to use recovered funds for 240 million Nigerians to help with hardship poverty and darkness, not for debt repayment.
Nigeria is still in debt because:
Debt is far larger than recovered money
Government borrows every year to fund budgets
Interest payments consume most revenue
Oil dependence makes income unstable
Population growth increases costs
Corruption and waste still exist
Recovered money helps, but it cannot fix decades of structural economic problems.
