Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 240 million Nigerians write to you out of deep concern regarding the recent shutdown of the Institute of Part‑Time Studies (IPTS) at the Federal University Oye‑Ekiti (FUOYE) and the growing hardship faced by millions of Nigerian students.

Sir, the abrupt closure of IPTS on February 19, 2026, has displaced thousands of part‑time students who were simply demanding fairness. Reports indicate that the shutdown followed a peaceful protest against a compulsory ₦20,000 Wi‑Fi levy — a service many students say they have never received. This action has raised fears of suppression of student voices and unionism.

Your Excellency, Nigerians are struggling. Over 240 million Nigerians have endured decades of unreliable electricity, no free public Wi‑Fi, and the rising cost of education, housing, and healthcare. 240 million Nigerians feel overburdened and unheard.

Sir, we respectfully ask:

Why are ordinary Nigerians still paying for electricity yet remain in darkness?

Why is there no free public Wi‑Fi or data access nationwide despite decades of promises?

Why do students face additional levies for services that are not provided?

Meanwhile, the Presidency enjoys uninterrupted power, solar infrastructure, and free Wi‑Fi/data.240 million Nigerians are simply asking for the same dignity and access to basic services.

Your Excellency, we urge you to:

Direct the Honorable Minister of Education to investigate the FUOYE shutdown and ensure students’ rights are protected.

Make education, housing, healthcare, electricity, and public Wi‑Fi/data freer and more accessible across all 36 states and 774 LGAs.

Provide immediate relief by ensuring free Wi‑Fi/data for students nationwide in the 36 states 774 LGA

Sir, Nigerians are resilient, but they need support. We hope you will treat this matter with the urgency it deserves.
