What Unemployability Really Means
Most graduates are not unintelligent. The problem is a translation gap between what schools teach and what industries need.

Nigeria’s education system is:

Theoretical

Exam‑driven

Certificate‑focused

Memory‑based

Disconnected from real‑world tools and workflows

A graduate may know accounting theory but not Excel, ERP systems, or financial modeling.
An economics graduate may know Keynes but cannot analyze data, build forecasts, or use statistical software.

This is not incompetence — it is misalignment.

The Modern Labor Market Has Changed
Globally, the economy now rewards:

Problem‑solving

Adaptability

Communication

Technology skills

Analytical thinking

Creativity

Systems thinking

Learning speed

Employers now ask:
What value can this person create immediately?

Degrees alone no longer guarantee employability
