The Real Issue: A System That Fails to Convert Human Potential Into Value. The recent comments by Aliko Dangote and the CEO of Moniepoint should not be seen simply as insults to graduates. They expose a long‑standing crisis: Nigeria produces certificates faster than it produces competence, and the economy creates fewer quality jobs than the labor force requires.

At the same time, young Nigerians are justified in their frustration. Employers demand world‑class productivity while offering salaries that cannot cover transport, food, housing, or basic survival. Both sides are reacting to real pressures — but each sees only its own suffering.
