Congratulations to my noble Lord, Justice Jennifer Mbalemen Ijohor (No 5 on the list), on her well-deserved elevation to the Court of Appeal. A Harvard-trained jurist, she is a perfect blend of brains and stunny beauty.

I once told her playfully, off-record, in her court in Makurdi, that she was destined for the Supreme Court. She's already well on her way.

While many often complain that cases dragged long for years in courts, that has never been the experience in My Lord's court. She sits everyday, even when other judges are not sitting, and often takes matters on the cause list until 6pm. If my Lord does not sit, there's always a cogent reason. Despite her heavy caseload, cases are sometimes determined in her court within two months. That is a fact.

I know my Lord; she's brilliant and a committed workaholic. Her husband, Tony Ijohor, is a distinguished professor of law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

An excellent appointment. More grace, My noble Lord.
