What is described as Consensus model which is stipulated in the electoral act for the conduct of primaries or elections, has an inbuilt control mechanism. Where there are 2 or 3 aspirants vying for a position and the consensus process settles for one of those 3 individuals, it takes the agreement of the other 2 for the consensus to stand. When there is no mutual agreement, the electoral act provides that you default into direct primaries.
