Nigeria’s Financial Market Offerings this Week from May 13, 2026

Nigeria's capital markets this week presents a full pipeline of offers across every major asset class, sovereign, corporate, and equity, yet the defining feature is not volume but structure. The 364-day T-bill attracted N2.23trn subscriptions against a N550bn offer, a 4.06x bid-to-cover that signals a market making a decisive directional call, rates are at or near their peak, and investors are moving to lock in duration now.

Against that backdrop, the DMO's announced N600bn FGN Bond auction on May 18 will restore the long-duration sovereign anchor absent this week, with 10-year and 20-year clearing yields set to reset pricing expectations across the curve. Everything else, Sunbeth's open Murabahah CP, Ojaja's announced issuance, the insurance recapitalisation rights issues, and the private placements in regulatory approval, must be yield-assessed relative to those sovereign anchors.

Investors who read the pipeline as a single cross-asset framework, calibrating duration, credit quality, and liquidity simultaneously, are best positioned. The premium goes to disciplined spread analysis, not headline rate-chasing.
