Respectfully hard truth Nigeria cannot fully escape 2026 debt service
Nigeria cannot suddenly avoid paying the roughly projected debt service in 2026—those are legal obligations. What can change, starting now 5/13/2026, is:
How much new debt is added. No more borrowing respectfully
How expensive that debt is (interest rates, currency risk).
How quickly the economy grows so that debt becomes smaller relative to income.
So, the real question is how do we stop digging the hole deeper and free up future budgets for jobs, power, housing, and security?
Stop the bleeding now 5/13/2026 reduce the need for new borrowing
raise serious domestic revenue on all the leaders starting from the president to the 4 richest billionaires from Nigerian tax the rich just like 195 countries have been doing for decades do not tax 240 million Nigerians we have been suffering, bleeding in poverty & darkness
Right now, Nigeria’s government collects very little tax relative to the size of the economy—one of the lowest ratios in the world. No tax to be collected from 240 million Nigerians we are poor no jobs. lf the Nigerian government opposition parties, independent candidates are serious about fixing Nigerian now they must be taxed highly 50% of their wealth if they are not serious, they should respectfully go away, and history will remember the Nigerians who fixed Nigeria respectfully this is the only to pay our debts tackle boko haram and fix the root cause. Respectfully any elites, rich politicians who choose not to help pay off Nigerian debts the global world will know about this respectfully and will be uploaded on the global internet
Key moves:
Fix tax administration, not just raise rates.
Close loopholes, digitalize tax collection, go after big evaders, not just salary earners. Leave salary earners out of this we are struggling for decades to survive tax the rich elites higher in Nigeria that is if they are serious to fix Nigeria
Property and luxury taxes.
Tax high-end real estate, luxury cars, private jets, and large profits more effectively.
Formalize parts of the informal economy.
Make it easy and cheap for small businesses to register, then gradually bring them into a light tax net.
