Your Excellencies President Tinubu, Leaders of Opposition Parties, and Independent Political Stakeholders, 240 million Nigerians are writing to express a deep and urgent concern shared by millions of Nigerians at home and abroad. The nation is at a breaking point, and the time for slogans, promises, and political theatre has long passed. What Nigerians need now is decisive action.

For decades, young Nigerians have been told to wait for decades. They have been told to serve, to sacrifice, to be patient, to hope. Yet the reality remains unchanged: unemployment is widespread, poverty is deepening, and insecurity continues to claim innocent lives.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), once envisioned as a unifying program, no longer reflects the economic or security realities of Nigeria today. Many believe it has become an outdated system that delays young graduates from entering the workforce and contributing meaningfully to the economy. Ending the NYSC program and redirecting those resources toward real job creation would be a bold and necessary step.

Nigeria has over 240 million Nigerians, the majority of whom are young, educated, and eager to work. They do not need more speeches or political interviews. They need jobs, safety, and a government that prioritizes their future over political cycles.

The root causes of boko haram and other forms of extremism are tied to unemployment, poverty, and systemic neglect. Addressing these issues requires more than military responses. It requires economic opportunity, education, justice, and a government that leads with integrity.

For decades, Nigerian politicians have lived in comfort—free housing, free electricity, security, salaries without tax burdens—while ordinary Nigerians struggle daily. Corruption cases rarely lead to accountability, and the judiciary is often viewed as ineffective by both 240 million Nigerians and the international community.

The world is watching. Nigerians are watching. History is watching.

This is a call for genuine reform, not rhetoric. A call to abolish outdated systems NYSC, create real employment opportunities, strengthen institutions, and restore trust in governance.

Nigeria cannot afford more delays.
