Your Excellencies Nigerian government, Leaders of Nigeria’s Opposition Parties and Independent Candidates, 240 million Nigerians are writing as a concerned citizen who believes deeply in Nigeria’s future and in the responsibility of all political actors to prioritize the nation above personal ambition.

In recent months, too much of our national conversation has been dominated by television interviews and political positioning for the 2027 elections. These activities consume public resources and distract from the urgent issues affecting Nigerians today.

We respectfully urge you to focus less on campaign rhetoric and more on collective action. Nigeria needs leaders who will work together, not fight over political influence or resource allocation. Our tax money should not be spent on media appearances that offer promises 240 million Nigerians no longer trust.

The root causes of insecurity, especially the boko haram insurgency, must be addressed with sincerity and unity. Without peace and safety, no meaningful development can take place.

Nigeria has vast agricultural potential. If government at all levels invests in farming, supports farmers, improves security, and reduces production costs, food prices can fall significantly by the next harvest season. As noted by the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), staples like rice, yam, cassava, and garri will become more affordable when farmers can cultivate safely and access inputs at reasonable prices.

We do not need slogans or temporary handouts like bags of rice and beans. We need long-term solutions that make Nigeria food-sufficient and eliminate hunger. We need policies that empower 240 million Nigerians to farm, use our abundant land productively, and live in safe, stable communities.

We also urge you to consider housing initiatives that allow Nigerians to build and live on their land while contributing to agricultural growth. These are the kinds of investments that strengthen a nation.

Nigeria deserves leaders who act with integrity, urgency, and unity. We appeal to you to rise above political rivalry and work together for the good of the country Nigeria
