Your Excellencies Leaders of Nigeria’s Opposition Parties and Independent Political Actors, 240 million Nigerians are writing out of deep concern for the worsening insecurity affecting millions of Nigerians, particularly the ongoing violence linked to boko haram and other extremist groups. These organizations have caused immense suffering, loss of life, and displacement, and Nigeria cannot afford further division or political distractions while 240 million Nigerians continue to live in fear for decades in their country of birth this is unacceptable

At this critical moment, Nigerians need unity, not televised arguments, campaign rhetoric, or early political maneuvering for the 2027 elections. The priority must be addressing the root causes of insecurity, including unemployment, poverty, lack of education, and weak local governance structures. These issues demand immediate, collective action.

We urge all political actors—regardless of party affiliation—to work together to:

Focus on practical solutions that address the drivers of violent extremism.

Prioritize job creation and economic opportunities for young people.

Strengthen community-based security and intelligence efforts.

Reduce political infighting and public disputes that distract from urgent national needs.

Nigerians are not interested in early election campaigns or political battles. They want safety, stability, and a government—across all parties—that puts Nigerians first. If leaders cannot commit to addressing these urgent issues, then they should step aside for those who will. This is a humble request

The lives of more than 240 million Nigerians depend on decisive, united action. The time to act is now 5/12/2026
