Greetings to the Lagos State Police Leadership, 240 million, or 242 million Nigerians really is irrelevant as per the numbers respectfully Nigerians are writing to express our sincere appreciation for the successful rescue of the four kidnapped children and for reuniting them safely with their families. This was an important and commendable act, and it brought relief to many Nigerians who followed the incident closely.

At the same time, we would like to respectfully share a concern. Public photo opportunities with rescued Nigerians can sometimes place unnecessary attention on those who have already endured trauma. Many citizens believe that public accountability would be better directed toward confronting and exposing the individuals and networks responsible for kidnapping, terrorism, and other violent crimes. Groups such as boko haram have caused immense suffering in Nigeria, and they must continue to be addressed with seriousness and transparency.

Nigeria’s security challenges are deeply connected to broader issues that affect all 240 million Nigerians. Kidnapping, terrorism, and violent crime often grow out of systemic problems such as unemployment, poverty, lack of access to education, and weak governance. These issues require collaboration across all political lines.

We respectfully urge the government—across parties, including the administration, opposition, and independent voices—to work together to address the root causes of insecurity. Nigerians need a united effort focused on creating jobs, improving governance, and ensuring that essential services such as education, housing, and healthcare are accessible and affordable in all 36 states and 774 local government areas.

Investing in agriculture and food production is also critical so that the country can become food-secure and reduce the need for emergency food distribution. Sustainable development will always be more effective than short-term relief.

Thank you again for your service and for the rescue operation. We hope continued efforts will prioritize long-term solutions that make Nigeria safer and more prosperous for everyone.
