Greetings Mrs. Mojisola Christiana Yusuff, 240 million Nigerians are
writing in response to your recent monitoring tour of public schools in the Idi-Araba community, an effort that reflects your commitment to improving educational outcomes across Education District VI.

While these visits are important, we believe the deeper issues affecting education in Lagos and across 36 states 774 LGA IN Nigeria require urgent, structural solutions. For millions of children, especially in the 36 states and 774 LGAs, access to quality education remains limited. Education should be free from primary school up to the PhD level, ensuring that every Nigerian child—regardless of background—has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society.

The root causes of insecurity, including the impact of boko haram on education in the north, must be addressed so that children can attend school without fear. Beyond safety, students need reliable transportation such as school buses and access to free railway systems to ensure consistent attendance.

It is also essential that our schools are not just open, but fully equipped. Many buildings remain old, under-resourced, and lacking the basic infrastructure required for modern learning. Students deserve new, well-maintained facilities with constant electricity, clean water, free Wi-Fi/data, and the technological tools necessary to compete globally.

Photo opportunities, speeches, and slogans cannot replace real investment. The conditions of many schools in the 36 states 774 LGA raise serious questions about funding allocation and accountability. These are areas where oversight bodies, including the EFCC, should focus—ensuring that resources meant for education are used to build and maintain the systems our children deserve. Corrupt public servants must be jailed assets seized never to be allowed to hold public offices ever again

Nigeria’s future depends on the strength of its educational foundation. We urge your office to continue pushing beyond symbolic gestures and champion the transformative changes needed to secure a better future for every child.
