Your Excellency Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the population of Warri is approximately 910,000 residents, making it the #11 most populous city in Nigeria. We are writing to you to convey the urgent concerns and expectations expressed by many citizens of Delta State. These issues have been raised repeatedly over the years, and people are asking for sincere, immediate action rather than new slogans or promises.
The people are calling for:
Free and accessible education for all children, youths, and graduates
Affordable or free housing and healthcare to reduce poverty and insecurity
Job creation initiatives that provide real opportunities for young people
Improved safety and protection from insecurity, including extremist threats
Addressing the root causes of crime by empowering youths through education and employment
Reliable, uninterrupted electricity supply and fulfillment of long-standing promise of 24/7 power
Free or affordable internet access to support education, business, and innovation
240 million Nigerians are frustrated by decades of unfulfilled commitments, corruption, and mismanagement in the power sector. Many feel they have lived in darkness while still paying for electricity they do not receive. They are urging current leaders to avoid repeating past failures and to demonstrate genuine commitment to progress.
The people of Delta State want transparency, accountability, and meaningful development. They want leadership that listens and responds with action. They want a future where every Nigerian can live with dignity, safety, and opportunity.
Thank you for your attention to these concerns. The people hope to see decisive steps that reflect your commitment to their well-being.
Respectfully,
Concerned 240 million Nigerians in darkness & poverty
