NASA’s Psyche probe to slingshot past Mars on May 15

The spacecraft will pass 2,800 miles above Mars, using gravity to adjust its path toward a metal-rich asteroid. The flyby will also help calibrate instruments before arrival in 2029.

Thousands of images and measurements are planned during the encounter.
