Ekiti state monthly allocation from the federal government (FAAC)
Ekiti receives money from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) every month.
Based on FAAC reports from 2023–2024, Ekiti typically receives:
₦6.5 billion – ₦8.5 billion per month (state allocation)
PLUS
₦3.5 billion – ₦5.5 billion per month (local governments combined)
So the total money entering Ekiti monthly is:
₦10 billion – ₦14 billion per month
for the entire state and all 16 LGAs.
This is the real number.
What does this mean per citizen?
Ekiti population ≈ 3.5 million people
If Ekiti receives ₦12 billion in a month:
₦12,000,000,000÷3,500,000≈₦3,428𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑡ℎ
That means:
Ekiti receives only about ₦3,400 per citizen per month.
This is why:
Healthcare cannot be free
Housing cannot be free
Education cannot be free
Youths cannot be paid ₦500,000 monthly
Roads cannot all be fixed
Hospitals take long to complete
The money is simply too small.
