Your Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, 240 million Nigerians are
writing to share a perspective on your recent comments regarding China’s one‑party system and why it appears to function effectively.

Many observers believe that China’s system works not simply because it is a one‑party structure, but because corruption is treated as a serious crime with real consequences. Leaders found guilty of corruption are prosecuted and jailed, regardless of status. In contrast, in Nigeria, individuals with corruption allegations often rise to positions of greater power, becoming presidents, ministers, or senior officials. This undermines public trust and weakens institutions.

Nigeria has the potential to achieve the level of development seen in China, but only if the government, opposition parties, and independent candidates commit to addressing the root causes of insecurity, including boko haram. Without tackling corruption and insecurity at their foundation, progress will remain limited.

China is not perfect—no country is—but it has become a global power in technology and construction because it invests heavily in its citizens and values their lives. By contrast, many Nigerians feel that political leaders across parties do not prioritize the lives and welfare of the 240 million Nigerians. Instead, politicians frequently switch parties, spend public funds on campaigns, and engage in photo opportunities that do not translate into meaningful change.

Nigeria can move forward now 5/8/2026, but it requires sincerity, accountability, and a genuine commitment to 240 million Nigerians—not slogans, not promises, and not political maneuvering.
