Amend Section 162 — Agbakoba Seeks End To MDA Deductions From Federation Account

What President Tinubu did correctly , though it isn’t working , was to direct that all funds be remitted to the Federation Account. However, the interpretation by the NNPC and other MDAs is that this allows them to deduct what they need for operating expenses. If the law is amended and made explicit, every MDA and the NNPC will understand that monies flowing through their accounts that are due to the Federation must be paid in full. The proper legal route for funding the NNPC is through appropriation.
