Armed criminals have taken hostages inside a bank branch in Germany

According to police, an unidentified man intercepted a cash-in-transit employee near a Volksbank branch in central Sinzig, after which several attackers and hostages remained inside the building.

The area around the bank has been fully sealed off, the city center is closed, and emergency services are operating at the scene.
