Strengthening Nigeria’s Democracy Through Rule of Law and Youth Inclusion
Your Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr. Peter Obi, leaders of opposition parties, independent candidates, and the Honourable Justices of our courts:

Nigeria stands at a defining moment. Our democracy can only grow when every institution — the executive, the opposition, and the judiciary — commits fully to the rule of law, fairness, and respect for the rights of citizens. The Nigerian people expect nothing less.

Today, many young Nigerians and graduates feel shut out of political leadership. They see a system that recycles the same actors while ignoring the energy, innovation, and competence of a new generation. This must change.

We respectfully call on all political leaders and institutions to:

Uphold the Nigerian Constitution and all electoral laws without manipulation, shortcuts, or selective interpretation.

Ensure that courts remain independent, free from political pressure, and guided only by evidence and the law.

Open political space for young Nigerians, including graduates and professionals who are ready to serve with integrity and fresh ideas.

Encourage internal party reforms that allow merit-based leadership, not godfatherism or closed-door arrangements.

Support independent candidates, giving Nigerians more choices and strengthening democratic competition.

Nigeria cannot progress if leadership remains a closed club. Our youth are not the leaders of tomorrow — they are leaders of today, and the nation must create pathways for them to contribute meaningfully.

A stronger democracy is built when every voice is heard, every vote counts, and every institution respects the law. The future of Nigeria depends on it.
