Good evening, my wonderful Leekee Family. I hope this message meets you well.๐ค
Today, as I was thinking about what to share with us, I looked at the list. Nutrition sat at the very top ยท but then I felt a gentle and insistent pull in my spirit to speak about something we all know intimately yet rarely name out loud. That silent enemy. Stress. We all face it, even when we try our best to be the strongest ones in the room. Let us dive in.
What is Stress?
Let us start by understanding what stress really is. In simple terms, stress is your body's reaction to pressure or a challenge. It is the way your mind and body respond when they feel overwhelmed by a demand. While a little stress can help you stay alert, long-term stress is what harms your health. Now that we know what it is, how do we know when it is affecting us?
How to Know When You Are Stressed
Many of us miss the signs because stress does not always announce itself loudly. It comes in quietly. It feels like a tight pain between your shoulders that you only notice when you finally sit down. It makes you easily annoyed by small things. It is that long list of unfinished tasks in your head that follows you even when it is time to rest. If you feel this way, please know you are not alone.
Where the Weight Comes From
Stress can come from work, relationships, or just taking in too much information every day. But if we are honest, the biggest cause for most people is a lack of financial stability. Worrying about how to pay for basic needs creates a constant fear that truly drains your mind and body. Knowing the cause is a good first step, but knowing how to handle it is what brings relief. When the weight feels too heavy, here are five simple things that actually help:
Five Simple Ways to Manage Stress
First, pause for sixty seconds. Do not try to fix anything right away. Just admit that you are stressed. You do not have to pretend to be strong all the time. Being honest about how you feel is a true strength. Breathe in slowly. Breathe out slowly. Let your body know that you are safe right now.
Second, drink a full glass of water.
This sounds too simple, but it works. When your body lacks water, stress feels much worse. Drinking water removes one hidden physical stressor from your body.
Third, eat something nutritious.
Sometimes we feel stressed simply because our brain is not getting the right food. When you are stressed, eat foods rich in proteins, healthy fats, and vitamins. This feeds your brain and helps you cope better.
Fourth, give yourself permission to rest.
You do not need to sleep for hours to feel better. Just lying down for ten minutes and letting your muscles relax can begin to calm your nervous system.
Fifth, pray.
There is real peace when you give your problems to a power greater than yourself. You do not need big or perfect words. Just talk honestly and ask for strength. You do not have to carry the weight alone.
You Are Not Alone
Please remember that you do not have to carry this weight in isolation, and you certainly do not have to be perfect. You only need to take life one gentle breath at a time.
If you are seeking a safe space and deeper support to navigate stress through holistic health and nutrition, my door is always open. I read every single message.๐ค๐ค

Thank you so much for the steps to manage stress. ๐
I'll definitely pin it
You named stress so gently, not as a weakness, but as a silent weight so many of us carry alone. The part about the 'tight pain between your shoulders' stopped me. I felt that.
And your five steps? Simple but powerful. Especially 'pause for sixty seconds' and 'give yourself permi...
